Don’t Tell The Children
It’s
a bone of contention at weddings – adults want to be able to let their hair
down without having to worry about being appropriate in front of someone else’s
children, while some parents would love a grown up night away from their little
monsters. On the other hand some parents
find it hard to get a babysitter, and would prefer to bring their
children. Of course the bride or groom
might have younger relatives who may be upset that they can’t attend a wedding.
Weddings
are a minefield whatever you do. Here at
Kearline Invites & More we want to help you take some of the stress out of
asking family and friends to not bring their children to your wedding.
So
how do you go about letting them know in advance that this will be an adults
only day? A lot of couples now choose to
include this information in their wedding invites.
Tacking
on a line at the end saying “No Children Allowed” is not a good idea, this will
annoy your guests and cause more arguments than it solves.
We
have had several brides who have chosen not to have children at their
weddings. The following are two examples of wording you might use on your
invitations.
Children
The only children at our wedding will be our Bridesmaids and
Ushers, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
This
is good if you will be having younger close relatives or possibly your own
children attending as part of the bridal party, making it clear that these will
be the only children allowed at the wedding.
However, there is always the possibility that someone will choose to
bring their children based on the fact that you are allowing some children to
attend.
Parents please note:
It is our wish to have an
adult-only celebration.
We hope that this advance
notice means that you are still able to share our big day.
This
is a very friendly way of saying that you do not want children to attend your
wedding. It states that only adults will
be attending, thereby giving notification to parents that they will need to
arrange a babysitter. There is no
ambiguity in this one - it states that
no children will be attending.
We
can help you with all aspects of the wording of your wedding stationery. For more information please contact us using
any of the methods below.

Please Be Seated...
In an ideal world all of our wedding guests would pick a seat at the reception and would happily get along with whomever they sat next to.
In reality Aunt Mabel can't sit next to Uncle Jack because they fell out in 1976 over Great Grandma's pearl necklace and haven't spoken a word to each other since. Then there's cousin Jean who has some issues and really needs to sit close to the toilets. Uncle Pete gets incredibly drunk and starts singing rude songs if he's sat next to second cousin Jim. All in all weddings are a cause of a lot of headaches for those given the task of organising them.
Let us take some of the headache from you by printing your table plan.
We have two types of table plan available in a style to suit your tastes, and we will match it to your wedding colour scheme.
Foamex Board
This is an A2 foamex board table plan. This version is portrait with rectangular tables.
This is the same A2 foamex board. This version is landscape with round tables.
This style of table plan is very popular and costs from £48.
X-Banner
This is our other style of table plan know as the X-Banner. This is a laminated banner with eyelets which can be attached to the X-style stand. This table plan is popular with large weddings as it allows more room for more tables and guests. Some brides choose this style and get creative, having the table plan at the top, and photographs of the bride and groom at the bottom.
This photo shows the table plan at the top and pictures from where the couple met - at a mutual friend's wedding in Las Vegas!
Some brides choose to put pictures of themselves and their future husband from when they were babies.
This table plan costs from £65, and the bride would rent the stand from us.
If you need a table plan please contact us today to make an appointment for a chat.
