Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Well another year comes to a close in the Kearline Office.

We've had a bumper year for weddings this year, and we would like to thank all of our brides and grooms for their custom.

If you are getting married in 2014 you need to be thinking about sending out your invites soon.  If you haven't got your invites sorted out yet, then either phone or email us at Kearline and we will only be happy to help.

I think there's supposed to be FIVE gold rings....

If you find a lovely engagement ring under the tree this Christmas, or have a wonderful New Year's proposal, then make sure to call us to arrange your wedding stationery as soon as you have booked the date.

Hmmm... It's a bit small

Our offices will be closed from 5pm on 18th December 2013 and will reopen at 9am on 2nd January 2014.

Until then we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, or Happy Holidays if you don't celebrate Christmas.

Love
All at Kearline Invites & More

Thank you very much for the very nice china...

Thank you!

It's easy to say when it's only a couple of people, but what happens when hundreds of people come to your wedding, and most of them have given you a gift?

Firstly, enjoy your wedding and worry about the presents later.  Then sit down with your new spouse and make a list of every gift and who the gift giver was.  Don't forget to include people who gave you money instead of a physical gift!

Then pick up the phone or send an email to us at Kearline Invites!  We can make your very own Thank You cards for you to send to your gift givers.  Whether you want cards to complement the original invitations you sent out, or if you would prefer something completely different, we can cater to your needs.

The beauty of Thank You cards is that it is less stressful than choosing invites, but the sentiment is still there - you think enough of the guest to sit down and write a card specifically thanking them for their gift and their presence (excuse the pun) at your big day.

If you would like to discuss your own Thank You cards, or any other wedding stationery please call us or email us to make an appointment today.  Alternatively you can come to see us this Sunday (29th September 2013) at the Marriott St. Pierre Golf & Country Club, Chepstow, South Wales, or Sunday 6th October at Tesco Store, Spytty Retail Park, Spytty, Newport, South Wales.

Don’t Tell The Children

It’s a bone of contention at weddings – adults want to be able to let their hair down without having to worry about being appropriate in front of someone else’s children, while some parents would love a grown up night away from their little monsters.  On the other hand some parents find it hard to get a babysitter, and would prefer to bring their children.  Of course the bride or groom might have younger relatives who may be upset that they can’t attend a wedding.

Weddings are a minefield whatever you do.  Here at Kearline Invites & More we want to help you take some of the stress out of asking family and friends to not bring their children to your wedding.

So how do you go about letting them know in advance that this will be an adults only day?  A lot of couples now choose to include this information in their wedding invites.

Tacking on a line at the end saying “No Children Allowed” is not a good idea, this will annoy your guests and cause more arguments than it solves.

We have had several brides who have chosen not to have children at their weddings.  The following are  two examples of wording you might use on your invitations.

Children
The only children at our wedding will be our Bridesmaids and Ushers, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

This is good if you will be having younger close relatives or possibly your own children attending as part of the bridal party, making it clear that these will be the only children allowed at the wedding.  However, there is always the possibility that someone will choose to bring their children based on the fact that you are allowing some children to attend.

Parents please note:

It is our wish to have an adult-only celebration.
We hope that this advance notice means that you are still able to share our big day.

This is a very friendly way of saying that you do not want children to attend your wedding.  It states that only adults will be attending, thereby giving notification to parents that they will need to arrange a babysitter.  There is no ambiguity in this one  - it states that no children will be attending.

We can help you with all aspects of the wording of your wedding stationery.  For more information please contact us using any of the methods below.

Colour Me Happy

Here at Kearline Invites and More, we want you to be happy with your invites.  That's why we will do our very best to match your invites to your wedding colour scheme.

We encourage you to bring a swatch with you so that we can match ribbon, envelopes and other aspects of your invites to your chosen colour.

I couldn't decide which colour to go with - so I chose them all.

We cannot guarantee a 100% colour match, however, we will do all we can to achieve as close a match as possible.

Pick a colour - any colour

Then hopefully you will leave a very happy customer!

Yay! I got the invites I wanted at Kearline Invites & More.

If you are getting married and still need to arrange your wedding stationery, please call us to arrange a time to come in.  If you would like us to colour match your invites, please bring a swatch of the colour with you when you come for your first appointment.

Please be advised that we do not offer foiling, so any gold or silver you need printing will be as close as we can get with our printing techniques.

Going To The Fayre

If you are getting married and aren't really sure where to begin, a visit to a Wedding Fayre may prove helpful.  At a wedding fayre you will find probably everything you need under one roof - including the roof if you need to book a venue.

Wedding Fayres are not just about trying on wedding dresses (although that is one exciting part of it).

I will wear this to the supermarket
At a wedding fayre you will find catering companies, cake makers, photographers, stationers, hair and beauty, chocolate fountains, wedding outfitters, and so much more besides.  By attending a wedding fayre you may never have to trawl from one shop to another trying to find the perfect invites or the perfect cake or the perfect photographer, because they are all there under one roof, waiting to speak to you.

Yes I have to try all of the cupcakes
Kearline Invites and More will be attending a wedding fayre at The Holiday Inn, Newport, Sunday 21st April 2013 for the BIG SALE EVENT.  Why not come along and meet us to discuss your wedding stationery requirements?

Wellie Wellie Wellie...Ooh Tell Me More

Once in a while, we at Kearline Invites & More like to break away from the norm and let you in on some of the things we find interesting, or quirky or just generally a good idea.

As any UK resident knows, spring or summer does not guarantee a wedding without rain.  That's why we are loving the new trend in wedding wellies.

Photo from www.weddingtonboots.com

For the bride we love these heeled ivory coloured wellies inspired by Catherine Middleton.  They are so nice that you will want to wear a knee length dress in order to show them off.  You can buy them at Weddington Boots

Once you have your funky wedding wellies your bridesmaids are going to want their own too!  With so many different designs around these days you are sure to find some wellies to match your wedding theme.

Of course with the extremely cold weather we've been having showing no sign of ending, you might want to think about getting some fur-lined boots!
